Toward the end of their affair, Voltaire became very annoyed with her (he was also falling in love with someone else) and said some unflattering things about hera phenomenon not exactly rare then as now when couples are breaking up. Alison Levine's ON THE EDGE offers amazing insights. but that really just made the lessons and details in this story that much more important for me to read.
